Sometimes all it takes to bring two people together is a cat in need and a little holiday magic.

15,000 words in 2 days

You know when you sit down to the computer and the words just appear. I love those days, and then comes the inevitable Monday. The return to work, all the ideas screaming to be captured will have to wait while I waste my time in a drab gray space with few windows and he hum of computers...I love weekends and only wish that I could skip returning to the 'real job'.

Rain

Rain sounds on my roof
The splash of tires running through a flooded street
Windows open to the smell of wet
The cool breeze tinged with the promise of fall
Crickets chirp thier choir song
The day is young and it feels long
Flowers bloom their last bloom
The grass soaks up green
Autumn is on its way

My inspiration for this story came from some research I was doing about Alaska. Once I started reading up on the history of that era I was hooked. Here are some of the photos that brought to life the story which I am currently working on.

The place that caught my attention was the small town of Dawson in the Yukon. With its barely established roads and old buildings it was a boom town that attracted all manner of folks looking to become the next Gold tycoon.

NEED MOTIVATION

Ever been sitting there, knowing that you could be doing soo much more, feeling your fingers itch to write - to tear up the keys in a frenzied flurry of brilliant movement?

My fingers are currently tongue tied (if that's possible).

Anyone read Alexander and the Horrible, Terrible, No Good, Very Bad Day... some days you just can't get it right...I think I'll move to Australia.....

Where did Spring go?

I miss those few weeks in which I could sit out on my back patio watching the clouds roll by as ideas swirled around in my head. The grass in the pasture behind my house was over grown. That large black mare, I call her Lady, would lean over my fence and look at me as if to say, "Shouldn't you be working?" She'd resume her nibbling on grass and glance my way every now again to be sure I wrote something. The gentle breeze with a hint of rain would ruffle the pages on the glass table top before me. I move my cup to hold several lose peices down. I hear the bird who built her nest in my garden chirp and she reminds me to stop and smell the flowers all around.

Ah...where did spring go?

It was 92 outside today - screw sitting on the patio.

Sir Robert de Gever's duties become vastly more complicated when Lady Isobel stumbles into his life in need of rescue. Questions arise and secrets run deep, leaving desire and suspicion to war within him.

Rainy Day

Been away far too long, was enjoying this past week's weather and then BAM! Today is 40 degrees cooler than yesterday and rainy. Yuck...oh well, its a good day to sit at the computer and write. What will I write...tales of a gloomy forest with lurking shadows and fae mischeif...perhaps...bright stories of a sweet romance in the American west, budding and new...how about vibrant purple sands on a moonless planet lingering in the far distant galaxy beyond the Milky Way.

We'll see where this ends up, chances are I will be posting an excerpt soon of whatever new story comes to mind.
